CREATION Project 2010
Every year since 1990, Recruit has organized a charity exhibition to enable many people to sense the enjoyment and pleasure that can be derived from art and design. Each year works created on a noncommercial basis by artists with links to the two galleries have been displayed and offered for sale, and the proceeds have been donated to UNICEF. Starting last year, this series of events has been revamped under the title “CREATION Project,” and its overarching objective is to suggest how our lives can be greatly enriched through the power of design.
The theme of the second “CREATION Project” is “Shoes.” It’s often said that dressing smartly starts with the feet, and footwear truly is an important fashion item, either as an accent complementing one’s clothes or as an elemental factor in total fashion coordination. So for this exhibition, we called on 160 creative artists to design shoes. The end result is a cornucopia of footwear designs: some are playful, others innovative, yet others artistic. No matter what their category, all 160 designs are sure to make their wearer want to stroll around town showing them off. We sincerely hope many people will come to see these remarkable shoes, purchase their favorite, and thereby participate in this most worthy charity event.
