Exhibition Commemorating AGI Congress 2006 in Japan New Posters by Japanese Members of AGI

  • DATES : Tue. September 19 - Fri. September 29, 2006

Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI) is an organization of graphic designers founded in Paris in 1952 to create a network of leading designers from around the world. Today AGI has 360 members from 28 countries. Since its inception, an “AGI Congress” has been organized every year at a different location. This year’s event will take place in Japan – jointly in Tokyo and Kyoto – for the first time since 1988. To commemorate this occasion, Creation Gallery G8 will host an exhibition of new posters created by 23 Japanese members of AGI, on two themes: “AGI” and “Welcome to Japan.” Simultaneously, a show featuring kakejiku hanging scrolls by AGI members will take place at ginza graphic gallery (ggg) and Kyoto Seika University, and an exhibition of AGI members’ representative works will be held at Printing Museum, Tokyo’s P&P Gallery.
