Since its founding in 1920, the Art Directors Club of New York, widely known as ADC, has played a leading role in the global realm of advertising. Every year ADC organizes an ongoing series of exhibitions of works receiving its annual awards, events that consistently garner eager interest and attention from members of design and advertising communities in countries across the globe.

In February, Creation Gallery G8 will show award-winning works from ADC’s 86th exhibition: works created and released during 2006. The 2006 competition attracted more than 10,000 entries from all across the United States and around the world, with 9 works ultimately selected to win Gold Awards and 27 winners of Silver Awards. Two awards were bestowed on Japanese entries. Masahiko Sato and EUPHRATES received a Gold Award in the Graphic Design category for “ISSEY MIYAKE A-POC INSIDE,” a video to promote the Issey Miyake Paris Collection. Naoki Ito (GT Inc.) et al. received a Silver Award in the Hybrid category for the film “NIKE COSPLAY.”

Every year, the award-winning and other works on display at Creation Gallery G8, gleaned from around the world, are shipped to Japan by air with ADC’s kind cooperation after their initial appearance at the organization’s gallery in New York.
