Award winning photographer Megumi Ohguri was born in Kyoto, Japan. Ms. Ohguri (Meg) is a visual artist. While a student at the Department of Construction Design, Kyoto Seika University, she became interested in imaging and came to realize the pleasure of expressing “space” through photography. After graduating from the university in 1994, she went on to The Japan Institute of Photography and Film to develop photographic technique and artistic expression. Then after finishing the school, she taught photography there and also worked as a professional commercial photographer for several years. Right after teaching photography at Osaka Electro-Communication University for one year, she went to Paris, France, in 2007 sponsored by the artist-in-residence program under the auspices of Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Japan). During her stay in France, she received Gold Medal Award from Salon International du Monde du la Culture et des Arts M. C. A., Canne in 2010. Meg is currently trying to catch the spirit of the times in Japan and fix her artistic sense in photo layouts in a constructive way she learned in Paris.
