Teruhiro Yanagihara

Teruhiro Yanagihara was born in Kagawa Prefecture in 1976. Since establishing his own design company in 2002, he has undertaken projects transcendding national borders and multiple genres, all in line with his focus on “designing the situation of designing.” In the role of creative director, he has participated in launching international Japanese brands such as the furniture brand KARIMOKU NEW STANDARD, the leather item collection TYP by Morpho, the ceramic brand 1616/ arita japan, and the 2016/ Arita porcelain joint project between Saga Prefecture and the Netherlands. Yanagihara’s work is included in the permanent collection of Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap) in Paris. He has co-authored (in Japanese) “Real Anonymous Design” (Gakugei Shuppan Sha), “The Design Methods of 11 Designers of the 2000s” (Rikuyosha), etc.
