The 8th “1_WALL” Photography Competition Grand Prize Winner
Believing the power of photography and trying to catch the hidden indications
Natsuki Kuroda’s photographic series of confronting young boys one to one, “A child by the water,” was selected as a winner for the 8th “1_WALL” Photography Competition. Admiring children’s special characteristics of being innocent and fresh to stand up for the rest of the world, the series caught these aspects on photography. The juries appraised as “ Her work is in a process of developing and she begins to capture people sincerely. I feel her potential.” “Because there is some kind of ideal to seek for, her work contains simplicity and playfulness.”
As for Kuroda’s first solo show “Keeping indications,” the series has shaped up from the previous series. What Kuroda has been attracted to is an indication of something mysterious when she stepped into a quite natural scene. It is the new series of work that catches the moves promptly and captures both playful children and invisible indication on photography. Please enjoy the show at the gallery.
