Born in 1984. llustrator
Graduated from Tama Art University with a concentration in Graphic Design, and she completed preliminary research in Graphic Design for the same university’s doctoral course.
Ms. Akiyama’s areas of illustration include books, advertising, magazines, websites, packaging, CDs, newspapers, etc.
She has exhibited her works and won numerous awards both in Japan and overseas, including a New York ADC Award in 2014.
Her publications include a collection of her works, ‘“IHATOV’ FARMERS’ SONG” (PLANCTON, 2009) and a picture book titled “Sock Monkey’s Present” (Kodansha, 2010), which won a Japan Book Design Award (Judges’ Encouragement Prize).
Her illustrations are a regular feature of the magazines “Kurashi no techo,” “tocotoco” and “MONKEY.”
